Aging Research Center

Vision

As the first aging research center in the country, we aim in the next five years, in line with the national development vision document, to become a center in accordance with global standards, a hub and scientific reference of the country in the field of aging. In such a way that the statistics and reports of this center are cited by policymakers in the fields of education, health, treatment, and social welfare of Iran, as well as by international and academic communities. In fact, the main goal of the Iranian research center on Aging is the comprehensive development of research in the field of biological, physical, psychological, social, and spiritual issues of the elderly at the community level. To achieve this goal, by utilizing existing facilities, we seek to develop quantitatively and qualitatively research and ultimately produce, disseminate, and apply new knowledge in the relevant field of aging so that, through creativity and innovation in interdisciplinary education and modeling in the system of providing health and social welfare services for the elderly, we can contribute to improving the health and quality of life of the elderly in our country.

Mission:

The main mission of the Iranian research center on Aging of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, as one of the prestigious and main hubs in the country for conducting research, producing and disseminating science, as well as training specialized educated human resources in various dimensions of biological, physical, psychological, and social issues of the elderly, is to provide educational and research programs and consultation in policymaking and planning in elderly affairs to institutions, organizations, and centers in order to comprehensively improve the health of the elderly in society.
